Policy and Procedures for Inclusion of Photography in OSA Gallery

Photographs are now welcome in designated gallery shows as per Board decision in 2006. Gallery Director will decide which show will exhibit photography.

Category Definition

The "Active-Photo Member" status will be for photography only and will be a separate designation on the official roster.

Procedures for Jurying

Anyone wishing to show photos in the gallery must first be juried into Active-Photo membership on the merit of their photographic work, as follows:

1. Be an Associate Member of OSA for 3 months

2. Present 3, matted and framed photographs suitable for hanging

3. Achieve a passing grade on the 3 card jurying process conducted by the

Board of Directors.

Fee Schedule

The Active-Photo Member status requires a $7., one time jurying fee.

Associate Member=$30./year

Active Member=$37./year

Active-Photo Member=$37./year

Active-Photo + Active Member=$37./year. ( "Double Active" Members pay only

ONE Active Member fee.)

 

Definition of Photo

A photograph is a printed image from a camera. Some digital manipulation of the image via software is still considered to be a photo. When ink, paint, glue or other media are added to the photograph, it becomes a mixed media painting, and does not require the Active-Photo member status to be exhibited.
